The Rock Games Begin!

Seems the Bigfoot may finally be taking interest in a rock stack I made a few weeks ago. I started placing rocks in different patterns on top of a stump at the edge of the hill beside our home. This location is right up the hill from where we've been seeing our nightly visitors. About once a week I'll make changes to the layout of the rocks. The last time I changed them was 12/22/13.

On Christmas Day (12/25/13) I went out to look at them and found something very interesting about the two large rocks on the left side. The top rock had been completely flipped over and placed back down!

When I saw this I did not touch or change anything about the stack, but left it alone to see if anything else would happen. Today (12/27/13) I noticed the small arrowhead shaped rock on top of the small stack of three had been turned just slightly.

After taking pictures, I rearranged the rocks again. Now we'll just wait and see if the games continue!

Some folks may say anything could have caused the small rock to be turned so slightly, and they may be right. However I firmly believe when dealing with establishing some sort of relationship/habituation you have to pay attention to and question the smallest details. The slightest adjustment to a rock could be communication of some sort...who knows? These guys are smart, possibly much smarter than we could ever imagine.

Enhanced Still Shots From Eyeglow Video

Fellow East Tennessee bigfoot researcher Scott Carpenter did some enhancement work on a few still shots he took from my eyeglow video. When I say "enhancements" I mean that he enlarged the eye and inverted the colors to bring out more detail. No other changes were made so what you see is what was there.

Bigfoot Home Visitations - Eyeglow Update

Well, last night (12/6/13) was interesting to say the least. For the past couple weeks things have been pretty quiet. The only exception has been the nightly glowing eye down in the woods. Last night we had some friends over and as usual things eventually led into a Bigfoot conversation. We had just finished watching the eyeglow video and decided to go out on the porch and see if it was actually there. Just like clockwork there it was. Almost like it was waiting on us to come outside.
While watching it we were discussing all options of anything else it could be when all of a sudden it dropped down about 5 feet in an extremely quick and smooth fashion. It appeared that it had been standing up and then dropped to the ground or at least a squatting position.  Not a sound was heard. At that point it started to slowly move side to side and get extremely bright when we would talk to it.
After seeing that I went inside to get a granola bar to throw down to it while my friend stayed out on the porch. I was almost to the door heading back outside when my friend came inside and said he wasn't staying out there by himself after what he just heard! He said as soon as I went inside he heard loud heavy bipedal footsteps walking through the woods directly in front of the cabin.
If this was the case that would mean there were more than one out there as that area is approximately 30-40 yards to the right of where the eye was.
We went back outside and this time my friends wife came with us. I asked her to speak to it to see what would happen as there have been interesting results in my past research when a female would be around or speaking. When she started talking to it the eye would glow extremely bright and move back and forth.
I then walked out into the backyard to toss the granola bar down the hill toward the glowing eye. My friends stayed on the porch and said when I went out into the yard they could see it turn toward my direction glowing brightly.
Once back on the porch we heard one of the corn feeders I have set up down in the woods start to rattle like something was trying to get corn. The feeders were empty so maybe they were asking for more corn??
I did not have the camera running of course as it was a spur of the moment thing that we went outside. It most definitely will be running tonight and I also have an audio recorder running all night strapped to a tree about 15 feet away from where we are seeing the eyeglow.

Knock Knock...Who's There?? - Wood Knock Reply Captured On Audio

Wood Knocking - Thought to be a method of communication used by Sasquatch/Bigfoot to locate or warn each other across a given distance using a sound that resembles a wood upon wood knocking sound therefor the given name "Wood Knocking"

So it seems the strange events continue around our home near the Smoky Mountain National Park...
As I have noted in previous blog post, we live in a very rural and secluded area right at the edge of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Over the past month or two we have been having quite a few strange happenings around our home. Twice lately we have had loud banging on the side of our home around 1 in the morning. Last week close to midnight while watching TV we heard three VERY loud wood knocks in the woods just down the hill in front of the house. Several instances of eye-glow, heavy footsteps walking just inside the treeline by our home and a constant feeling of being watched.
On November 11th, 2013 I was out on my front porch late in the evening and was attempting to stir up some action and gain a response to wood knocking. Although it has taken several missed opportunities and lessons un-learned, I have finally trained myself to always take the digital recorder with me when outside our home at night... this time it payed off.
On this particular night I made three very loud knocks with two small pieces of 2x4 lumber and just waited. About 25 seconds later a response of three knocks almost identical to mine was heard (and recorded) from the woods across the valley from my home.
A similar thing had happened a few nights earlier only much closer and I didn't have the recorder going (one of those lessons un-learned). I had done the same "three knock" pattern and about 20 seconds later a very fast and loud "two knock" pattern answered back from the woods across my driveway.

Loss Of Innocence - Repost By Scott Carpenter

A good friend and fellow researcher Scott Carpenter reposted a write-up he did a while back which in my opinion is excellent advice for anyone interested in the study of Bigfoot. I can't even begin to describe how accurate he is in this article...

The "Loss of Innocence" - Advice to Aspiring Bigfoot Researchers - Re-Post

Over the past few weeks the Finding Bigfoot episode that I was in has aired a couple times. This has prompted a few inquiries about Bigfoot Research in general and what it takes to "get started". I posted this article several months ago and it expresses my thoughts to those wanting to get into "Bigfoot Research" as a "hobby".

The "Loss of Innocence" - Advice to Aspiring Bigfoot Researchers

I used to love the outdoors. I would go out alone and wander around in the forest, exploring new places, the further off the beaten path the better. I would go into the National Park and select a drainage and just go, walk in for a couple hours then turn around and walk back out. I preferred to hunt deer alone, finding spots so deep in the thickets that no one else would even dream of going back into these places. Every now and then I would get the feeling I was being watched, but I would shrug the feeling off and go back to enjoying my day.

The actual location of the encounter
Those days are no more; the wilderness has lost its wonder. It is no longer a place of peace and serenity. It all changed for me on a sunny June day in 2009 while fishing. I was casting a point of land that was part of a public recreation area. I made some silly sounding “whooping” calls why I do even know.  I was just messing around imitating what I had watched in a YouTube video. Then the most amazing thing happen, something came tearing down through the woods. It was breaking limbs and crashing around in the thick underbrush. My jaw dropped and I was in shock as I stared at the shoreline. It stayed back in the shadows and I could only catch glimpses of sunlight on it from time to time. It acted like it was looking for something. It would go up the bank to the right and then the left. While all this was going on I was fumbling with the trolling motor trying to put some distance between it and me. After a couple minutes I heard a very clear “humph” three or four times. Then I heard it walk back into the woods slowly until it was out of range. It took me several minutes to compose myself as I sat down in the bottom of my fishing boat.

This event would change everything. I had to find out what had made this noise. Even though I had a sighting when I was a child, this event was the catalyst; this event started me on this journey, this “quest for the truth”.

Over the past three years I have seen and experienced things that are unbelievable. The average person has no idea what is going on in the wilderness. I can no longer go into the woods in a state of “ignorant bliss” and just enjoy it. I know what is out there, I know what is watching and lurking in the shadows.

I do still enjoy being out but it is different now. It is hard to explain to those who have never experienced it, but the Bigfoot “know that you know” and this changes everything. I have a difficult time deer hunting because of interference from the Bigfoot. I go on family outings in the National Park with relatives that have no clue about Bigfoot or that I research and we will hear “strange sounds” or encounter “odd smells”.

I can not explain this but some people are what I called “marked” by the Bigfoot. No matter where you go, if there are Bigfoot in the area they will find you and make themselves known to you. On average it takes a couple days in an area for the “locals” to find you. Then all the “odd” stuff begins to happen.

My “loss of innocence” is compounded when you throw in the other crytpids that have shown up. I had only heard rumors about the “Dogman” until I captured it on video and then later made direct eye contact with one. I was not looking for them and definitely did not want to see one.  It is a shock to the system when you begin to realize what you have been taught all your life is wrong and that your “reality” is not the truth. You have heard the old saying, “be careful what you wish for, you just might get it”. Well I found out how true this statement is. To be honest I am still adjusting to this “new reality”. Gone are the days when the woods were a place of solitude, peace, and wonder. It is now a place where the “Monsters” live and they do not respect your “reality”.

I get several request from people all the time “where can I go to see a Bigfoot”, “what can I do to have an encounter”, and “I want to know the truth about them”. My first piece of advise would be are you sure that is what you really want? The “truth” is a very sharp double-edged sword and is no respecter of persons or your belief system.

I have been bursting many bubbles lately when I talk to people. My advice now comes with stern warnings about being cautious, going armed, never going in the woods alone, do not take your children with you, if you’re a woman be extra careful. I can hear the disbelief in the voices of those hearing this for the first time. Those who think like I once did; the “benevolent keeper of the forest” is not always so benevolent and he is not the only cryptid out there.

So this is my advice or better my warning to those who want to “research Bigfoot” or “find the truth”, find another hobby, this is not what you think it is. If you still insist then be ready for a shock to your belief system, be ready to throw out everything you think you know. When you think it can’t get any “weirder” it will and there are very few people who you can tell or talk about this with. You will be called a crackpot, crazy, insane, out of touch with reality, idiot, and these are just the ones I can repeat. You will experience things you can not record on film or produce “evidence” of, you will be frustrated constantly by camera malfunctions, blobsquatches, and noises you plainly heard but your equipment did not pick up.

There are also the unintended consequences of research, home visitations. Yes in many cases they will follow you home, do not ask how or why I just know they do. Then your friends and family will really thing you are a lunatic.

Finally I have one more warning to give you, with knowing the truth comes responsibility.   What do you tell the woman that calls you who is all excited about researching Bigfoot and loves to go out into the woods all by herself? When you see that a child has gone missing in a wildness area you will wonder. When phone calls come from scared people who have a Bigfoot habitation around their home what do you tell them? When you talk to a person that has just had an encounter and they called you because you’re the “local researcher” what do you tell them? What are you going to say to calm their nerves? How are you going to reassure them that it is ok, they are not crazy, what they saw is real.

Some who research seek anonymity to avoid the above but it will be difficult if you choose to go this route, you will be faced with choices to speak out or be silent and there are consequences to both decisions.

So in closing my final word to you is take up golf or fishing it is safer and less stressful, but if you insist on perusing "Bigfoot Research" be prepared for your “loss of innocence”.

Possible Activity At Home - October '13

We've had something interesting going on around the house here lately and in particular the last two nights. We have a small fall display down the hill beside our driveway just out of sight of our house. It consist of a hay bale, one large and two small pumpkins, two small scarecrows and an old watering can with flowers in it. Two nights ago we noticed one of the smaller pumpkins was missing. I searched high and low and it was nowhere to be found.

The missing pumpkin was on the left side in front of the little scarecrow.

Last night I decided to place half a chocolate poptart I the exact same spot that the missing pumpkin had been.
This morning I was on my way down the driveway heading to work and noticed the second small pumpkin was about 20 feet down the driveway. I stopped the truck and got out to find that the poptart was gone along with one of the small scarecrows we have staked down in the hay bale (the one on the right). After spending several minutes looking for the missing scarecrow, my only conclusion was that something possibly took it last night.

This is only one of several odd happenings around our home in the past couple weeks. We have a close friend of ours that lives in a small portable building across the driveway from our house. On two different nights he has had something large hit the side of his building around 1-2am. He would immediately go outside only to find all is quiet and nothing around. If this is indeed bigfoot related, I'm not feeling that it is the same group that came around last fall. These guys seem more sneaky and not as bold about letting themselves be known. That is up untill the last couple weeks. We have company coming in this weekend. That usually stirs things up some so we'll just wait and see what happens. I may step up my gift offerings by leaving items in a broader area around the property. Up until now most of my gift leaving has been centered around the back yard. Nothing like bigfootin' in the fall!

EyeGlow

Eyeglow... A phenomenon often reported and experienced during bigfoot sightings or encounters. It seems that at least some Sasquatch are able to emit glowing light from the eyes and are possibly able to control the level of brightnes. There have been various colors of this phenomenon witnessed. Colors such as a soft "glow stick" green... an amber orange similar to the end of a cigarette... an electric/crystal blue... yellowish white and just a plain bright white. Red also seems to be a very common color. Anything from as bright as a hunters red headlamp to what appears to be an intense red LED dot.

Some in the "Bigfoot world" refer to this as eyeshine, but I have a hard time using this word to describe the experiences I have had. Several other individuals have shared these experiences with me and I feel sure they would say the same.

In my opinion, Eye "shine" is the reflection of light on the eyes caused by an outside light source. Example: camera flash, headlights or street lights.
Eye "glow" is different. Many reports tell of the eyes actually emitting light in locations where there is complete darkness or at least where there is no surrounding light source to cause a reflection in the eyes.
Most encounters I have in the national park and around my home are of this type.

Honestly, to me it is a complete mystery how or why they do it, but in the locations I visit there are no artificial light sources such as street lights. Some argue that starlight is even enough to cause eye "shine" and that may be true. However, in this case I must disagree...this is a glow that I see, not a reflection. Those who have witnessed this phenomenon will tell you there is most certainly a distinguishable difference.

The color white seems to occur often when they are on the move. On multiple occasions I've seen the white glow moving through the forest as if someone is walking with a dim flashlight 8 feet off the ground. White flashes similar to that of a camera will happen at one end of an area and soon a return flash from the other side will be seen as if there’s some sort of silent communication going on. Up in trees we have seen what looks like a small flashlight slowly fade on and appear to be looking around. As soon as they realizes we see them it will instantly go out.

During the winter when there is less foliage on the trees, visibility deeper into the forest is greater. Many times they will appear way back in the woods at full brightness, perfectly still and white in color. It’s very similar to a Coleman lantern being held up or "floating" by itself. The last time this happened we looked at it through binoculars. What appeared as a single bright white light to the naked eye was actually two brightly lit eyes when looked at through the binoculars.

What does all this mean? That's a good question for which  I've heard many opinions, but the truth has yet to be heard. In my opinion, I believe it serves a multitude of purposes. A silent means of communication, some sort of night vision, different colors for different moods... Who knows.

This is a subject that has always intrigued me. It also is a phenomenon that has occurred in many of my most intimate and extreme interactions with this people. It’s a subject I truly hope to learn more about and to hear others experiences.

Missing Bear

I've been very excited to post this update for over a week, but due to being out of town I am just now able to do so.
The weekend before last I returned to my research area and also camped overnight at the nearby campground. The stuffed bear I had left as a gift was gone and the flowered necklace I had hung in the tree was relocated and laying across the gifting tree. It was laying across the tree right where I leave the food gifts. I thoroughly searched the area for the stuffed bear with no results. It was completely gone!

The bear as I left it two weeks ago...

The flowered necklace as I left it two weeks ago...

I also found a couple of logs on the ground nearby with several small limbs laid parallel to each other and seemed very out of place.

Smoky Mountain Research Update

Finally made it out to my research area this week. I've been wanting to see if anything had tampered with the gifting basket, teepee structure and rock arrangement.
I was excited to find several things had occurred since my last visit. The first thing I noticed as I approached the area further convinces me that the Bigfoot are crossing through  here. Freshly trampled plant life and broken twigs show that something has been crossing the creek here.

The rock arrangement had definitely been tampered with. Every single one of the rocks has been moved in some way or another. There seems to be a pattern forming related to "threes". Several times I've found my arrangements "redone" where only three items are left or grouped together. Even at my home I've had this happen with the rocks I leave out close to my back door.

This is how I left the rocks two weeks ago...

This is how I found the rocks this week. Notice the "three" pattern on the boulder and the other two rocks laying on the ground at the top of the picture...

Earlier this summer I found my seashell arrangement where one of the shells was knocked off the large rock and three left on top.

One shell knocked off and three left on the large rock...

Are the Bigfoot telling me there are three of them visiting the gifting area or something else?

Also, something very interesting happened to the seashell arrangement this time. It's been a couple months since they knocked the fourth shell off the rock and I last rearranged them. Since that time the moss on the large rock has grown some around the shells and has started to "swallow" them up. This week  I noticed someone has picked one up the one furthest to the right and set it back down in the exact same place except the shell is turned in a different position! The shells have to be "pulled" out of the surrounding moss as it has grown to it and holds them in place. Someone was trying to be sneaky and examine one without me realizing it.

Last trip...

This trip... Notice the shell furthest to the right.

The white gift basket I had hung from a limb was completely gone. I had left the basket with several items in it hanging from the limb by a rope about 7 feet off the ground.

How I left the basket two weeks ago...

This week...

There was one wrapper from a honey bun and the glow bracelet laying directly underneath where the basket had been, but no basket...anywhere. The wrapper didn't appear torn, but looked opened like a normal person had opened it by pulling it apart. Something with hands would have had to do this. How would an animal get the basket down that was tightly fastened to the rope? And if by chance somehow they were able to get it down, why would any animal take the basket with them? Doesn't it seem logical that once the basket was somehow brought to the ground the items would spill out? Wouldn't the animals just eat or take the spilt items and pay no attention to a white metal wire basket? Quite a few coincidences I'd say.
I think I may keep my eye open for an empty basket to show back up for a refill. Lets hope so!
This has happened before at my home involving disappearing bird feeders that showed back up 4 months later. I'll write a out that experience later!

The stick structure overall didn't look disturbed although a couple of the limbs looked a little out of place.

Two weeks ago...

This week...

Strange things are happening in this location and it seems there is some type of communication going on here. I'll keep you posted...

More Possible Activity At Home...

I know I've been posting a lot about the activity around our home and not much on the national park location, but things have really been active at the house lately. I plan on getting out to the park area tomorrow (Sunday Aug 11th) and hope to report on the findings asap.

Last night I tried another experiment. Before it got dark yesterday evening I borrowed the advice from a fellow researcher and made a "box" out of large river stones that I had laying around the house and left an unopened package of pop tarts inside. My goal was to make a "critter proof" enclosure to keep small animals such as raccoons and possums out.
I placed an "X" beside it to mark it as a gift. The fellow researcher suggested doing so due to reading that an X is a Native American symbol for "gift". He also said he has had good results in his area by using the X symbol. It is very interesting that two days in a row I have used the X symbol and have had results both days including finding a fresh footprint yesterday. I'm also not saying we don't have raccoons that can move 20lb rocks, but I had some interesting findings this morning....

Structure as I left it yesterday evening.

Rock pulled back to show Pop Tarts inside.

How I found it this morning, Pop Tarts gone.

Did a Bigfoot take the gift or did a Raccoon beat him to it? Either way very interesting and I thought it was worth posting.

Bigfoot Activity At Home-Footprint Found!

Had a couple of interesting things happen over the past 24 hours here at home. I put a few items out yesterday evening as usual and it seems we had a visitor overnight. My rock formation has not been touched for close to a week until last night.

The rocks the way they've been for about a week...

The rocks this morning...

Then this afternoon when I got home I did my usual inspection of the yard and around the house. In the back corner of our yard under one of our trees is a 13" long and 6" wide footprint! It is aimed away from the house toward the woods. It appears it was made not too long before I got home from the way the clover is matted down. With the rain we've had today it would have sprung back up by now if it was made last night.

Length is 13 inches...same length as the one I found only a few feet away from this spot last Christmas.

Width is 6" at the ball of the foot.
My own ofoot measures 4" across and I wear a size 13 medium.

The clover is freshly matted down.
The heel...

The toes...

Smoky Mountain Research Update…

This past weekend (7/28/13) I made a trip to my research area in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. It had been 6 days since my last visit and I found some things that are starting to become regular occurrences. Food gifts are always taken. Whether it is an animal taking the food or Bigfoot is technically up for debate, although I believe the latter is the guilty party! But, when non-food gifts are rearranged, moved or completely missing, that’s when it becomes serious to me. When a ball that is wedged under heavy limbs is moved to a completely different part of the research area once, that’s interesting. When it keeps happening, well…you get the picture...

On the ground in this picture you can see the ball as I found it...again. I always put the ball under the limbs you see crossing over the log in an "X" fashion.

How it looked a week ago...

I did find what I believe were a couple of “gifts” left for me. Right where I have been leaving items on the fallen tree was a small stick balanced perfectly over the trunk. And at the other end of the tree was a small mushroom that looked like it had been picked from the ground very recently and placed for me to find. The bottom of the mushroom still had topsoil attached to it and it was lying perfectly on its side just like someone had placed it there. I always take these “gifts” whether they leave them or not and I say “Thank you!” placing them in my backpack. I left in its place a small candy bar. I always try to consider that something so simple to us could have such great meaning to them. You just don’t ever know…

The mushroom as I found it...

I decided to try something different this week. Up until now I have been leaving the food gifts on a fallen tree or placing apples up in tree limbs nearby. They are always taken, but the question always lingers whether or not an animal took the food. Candy and snack wrappers are almost always left lying on the ground nearby.

I thought I’d try putting the food gifts in a small basket, hang the basket from a rope that I threw over a tree limb and tied the other end to a nearby tree. The basket is hanging about 7 feet off the ground and about 3 feet down from the limb. I even put a little thought into what color the basket should be. The store had several colors available, but after researching I found the color “white” means peace to most Native American tribes.

I put a couple apples, a peach, a honey bun and a couple candy bars in the basket. I also put in a small green glow-stick bracelet I picked up at the dollar store. They glow for several days and it will be interesting to see if they take it.

Maybe this will help more solidly determine what is getting the items. If I can try to rule out small animals I want to do so.

Next, I went up the hill about 20 yards and built a small tee-pee structure with surrounding fallen limbs. Not sure what kind of response I’ll get from the structure, but so far they seem to be ok with me rebuilding the one I found nearby after it had fallen from a bad storm. I had been leaving food on it before then and still am now. The food is always gone when I return and usually not a single small limb will be out of place.

Structure I built...

I wanted to post a picture of a star structure I found. This is right beside the same creek my research area is on only about 50 yards upstream. It’s the first of its kind I have ever found. I don’t know why, but I always get a strange feeling when I’m around it. I always go out of my way to walk around and never mess with it. It’s almost like it has a sacred feeling to it. Either way, I avoid it out of respect.

Star structure I found...

The past few times I’ve been there I’ve played music for the big guys. I have a couple small battery powered laptop speakers I pack in with me and connect to my phone. I have a few downloaded Native American flute songs I like to play for them. I had a friend with me this trip and the whole time we were there it felt like we were being watched.
